MERIP has been working with the International Organization for Migration Micronesia office to produce a series of climate change and natural hazard mitigation posters, brochures and comics. These regionally appropriate documents are targeted at school students and the general public in an effort to improve disaster preparedness for the islands.
The effects of climate change are predicted to make life harder for the residents of Micronesia, especially rural communities who rely on their natural resources for survival. From 2015-2018 MERIP worked on a grant from the Pacific American Climate Fund to assist Micronesian communities on adapting to climate change through aquaculture, fisheries management and specific targeted adaptation projects. MERIP has also worked with the International Organization for Migration Micronesia office to produce a series of climate change and natural hazard mitigation posters, brochures and comics. These regionally appropriate documents are targeted at school students and the general public in an effort to improve disaster preparedness for the islands.
